Flammability Testing and Consulting Services, Fauske & Associates
Evaluating chemical hazards is a crucial part of plant safety. Chemical systems and processes that require the handling of flammable gases and vapors pose a specific type of hazard that needs to be addressed. Mishandling of flammable gases or vapors can lead to hazards such as fires or explosions. Preventative or mitigative safety systems, as well as certain safety procedures, can be implemented to decrease the likelihood or severity of a flammability hazard. In order to properly implement these measures, it is imperative to first characterize the hazard with various flammability experiments, analyze the results and apply the data, and then install the recommended preventive/mitigative safeguards which may include LEL/UEL detectors, oxygen monitors, rupture discs, flame arrestors, and explosion relief panels.
