Eliminates vortex formations at fluid suction intakes
Our VEXTOR will suppress vortex formation, thereby allowing you to operate your fluid tanks and reservoirs under a much wider range of levels and operational conditions. By preventing the formation of vortices, swirl flows that cause vortices and air intrusion as well as degraded pump operations won't be a problem. When properly sized and installed, VEXTOR ensures that gas intrusion caused by vortices won't be an issue, promoting maintenance-free plant operation.
Background
A spiral motion of fluid within a limited area, a “vortex”, can result at suction points of liquid tanks and other fluid reservoirs. The effects of vortex formations can be benign or detrimental depending upon the particular circumstance. To reduce the influence of vortex formation, fluid levels can be increased and operational performance can be modified. We are pleased to introduce, VEXTOR, our vortex suppressor that, once installed at a suction intake, will prevent vortexes from forming.

Description
Our stainless steel VEXTOR vortex suppressor is designed and configured based upon the application of interest. Once designed and fabricated, VEXTOR is tested for the suction pipe configuration to assure effective response. After demonstration testing, VEXTOR is sent to the plant for installation and years of maintenance free operation. Gas intrusion due to vortices will no longer be an issue.
