VSP2 Vessel Setup - Part 1 VSP2 Vessel Setup – Part 1

This video shows how to install the VSP2 test cell assembly into the VSP2 containment vessel and make the necessary connections inside the VSP2 containment vessel.

VSP2 Vessel Setup - Part 2 VSP2 Vessel Setup – Part 2

This is a continuation of the Part 1 video showing how to install the containment vessel lid, and how to make the appropriate connections on the outside of the VSP2 containment vessel.

VSP2 Starting a Test VSP2 Software – Starting a Test

This video walks through starting a test within the VSP2 control software. The splash screen, initial test summary screen, and test setup screen are discussed.

VSP2 Test Cell Assembly VSP2 Test Cell Assembly

This video shows how to configure the test cell, heater, and insulation assembly for performing a standard VSP2 experiment.

VSP2 Pressure Transducer Calibration VSP2 Pressure Transducer Calibration

Calibration of the VSP2 pressure transducers follows procedures typical for linear analog electronic instrument amplifiers, with the “zero” being adjusted at zero gauge pressure and the “gain” being adjusted at a suitable high pressure. Several iterations may be required before the transducers are fully calibrated.

VSP2 TC Verification VSP2 TC Verification

Within the VSP2 control software, the set-up screen contains the option to “Calibrate Temperature and Pressure.” Watch here for a guide to verify proper function of the VSP2 thermocouples and set an offset to correct the readings if necessary.

Electrical Checks of VSP2 Consumables Electrical Checks of VSP2 Consumables

Calorimetry testing is most likely to succeed if the operator first verifies the integrity of parts that are susceptible to wear and corrosion. This video discusses the various items that should be electrically checked prior to testing.

VSP2 Test Cleanup VSP2 Test Cleanup

Promptly and sufficiently neutralizing and cleaning the VSP2 containment vessel and any reuseable consumables is important for extending the life of the components and consistently getting good experimental data.
